With Simple Things, Wally Badarou, synth pioneer and polymath musician, finally brings his vision for the backing tracks of Colors Of Silence to life. Composed of six tracks, the album combines overdubs and vocals added to the original mixes, offering a subtle reinterpretation of pieces initially developed in 2001.A synth specialist and key figure in the sound of Balearic DJs from the 1980s, Badarou also left his mark on the international scene with the Compass Point All Stars, collaborating with Sly and Robbie, Grace Jones, Tom Tom Club, Mick Jagger, and even Fela Kuti, and contributing to many iconic albums by Robert Palmer, Herbie Hancock, Talking Heads, and Miriam Makeba.The recording of Simple Things took place in two stages: the backing tracks were created in his studio in Normandy in 2001, then Badarou refined melodies and lyrics in late 2023, before adding overdubs and vocals during the summer of 2024. True to his approach, he demonstrates that sometimes, simple things are the most extraordinary, offering an album that reveals the full extent of his musical genius.
