City Lights

Description

The British post-punk folk-rock duo, The Waeve, returns with their latest guitar-driven work, City Lights. Graham Coxon (Blur) and Rose Elinor Dougall are back with the follow-up to last year's acclaimed self-titled debut album (Top 30 UK OCC). Produced by James Ford (Fontaines DC, Arctic Monkeys), the album features both artists on vocals, in addition to playing a host of instruments, including saxophone, keyboards, and drums. The Waeve has established themselves as a songwriting partnership to watch, and with City Lights, they further push the boundaries of their collaborative creativity, using this album to narrate the evolution of their relationship and their forays into parenthood. City Lights is presented in a beautiful gatefold sleeve designed by Matt de Jong (Blur, Arlo Parks). The title track was released in May and was added to the 6Music playlist, as well as receiving coverage on NME, DIY, Stereogum, Under The Radar, and more. At that time, the band is the opening act for Elbow on a full UK tour, in addition to their own sold-out show at Hoxton Hall in London. This summer, they will perform large-scale shows with Noel Gallagher, Breeders, and at Green Man Festival, along with their own headlining show at Village Underground on October 29, followed by a full album tour in the spring.
