Earle Lavon "Von" Freeman Sr. (October 3, 1923 - August 11, 2012) was a revered and beloved veteran of the Chicago jazz scene. Von was among producer Nils Winther's priority musicians. His dream came true in late spring 1992, when Von was 72. His powerful tenor is brilliantly supported by his trusted rhythm section, consisting of Jodie Christian (piano), Eddie De Haas (bass), and Wilbur Campbell (drums).
