Like Feu! Chatterton and Radio Elvis, from the same generation, bearing the imprint of BabX and Bertrand Belin, Volin treads an innovative path whose current culmination offers us an album that is never static, that wanders, soars, escapes, and returns to itself. Blending Rock, electronic music, and purified Folk, he draws us into a cottony calm, as if nestled in a cloud, where intensity nevertheless swells, climbs, and suddenly surges, making 'Cimes' an entity that, without explicitly mentioning or excessively evoking travel, is nonetheless a journey in its entirety. The theme of time is the album's guiding thread, the time that has passed on "Hier," the time that will come through tracks like "Petit à Petit," and the inertia of movement by road as in "Partir," by sea on "Entre Deux Rives," or by air on "L'Elan." Other themes punctuate this dominant subject, addressing societal issues, past lives, and inviting us to simply take the time to live.
