VOLCANO CHOIR is a collaborative project between JUSTIN VERNON, aka BON IVER, and his neighbors, COLLECTIONS OF COLONIES OF BEES, initiated in 2006 before BON IVER gained recognition with the album For Emma, Forever Ago. Driven by the desire to compose an album of palpable intimacy, where organic and analog elements would breathe together, VOLCANO CHOIR wrote their first album, Unmap, on which intimate gospel choirs and minimalist guitar loops form the most perfect harmony.
