Wings of Renaissance

Description

With this recording, Violetta Khachikyan presents her third solo album, dedicated to rarely performed works from the Renaissance, early Baroque, and Classical periods, which acquire new tonal colors and renewed vitality on the 21st-century piano. Particularly noteworthy are the works of the three female composers Marianne von Martinez, Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, and Ekaterina Alexeyevna Vorontsova. The album also includes Maurice Ravel's "Le Tombeau de Couperin," which stands both as a retrospective (on Couperin) and as an innovative creation drawing inspiration from ancient dances and forms. Born in Russia, Violetta Khachikyan studied at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, where she graduated with honors. She quickly recorded her first album and embarked on international tours. She has performed with orchestras and in chamber music. Since 2011, she has lived in Germany and particularly enjoys performing at festivals such as the Beethovenfest Bonn and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
