Cavaglia

Description

Violeta Vicci rides a motorbike, is fluent in seven languages, and feels at home in England, Switzerland, and Spain. A multi-faceted contemporary violinist, singer, and composer, she feels comfortable crossing genres, from classical to ambient electronica. Her influences range from Bach to Brian Eno. Her music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 (Hannah Peel), Radio 4 Woman's Hour, BBC6 (Iggy Pop), KEXP, and Resonance FM. Having started the violin at the age of four and made her concerto debut at fifteen, she realised her lifelong dream of studying at the Royal Academy of Music. Violeta has recently collaborated with Thom Yorke, Elbow, Jonsi (Sigur Ros), Steeleye Span, and Ellie Goulding. She also arranges strings for Fontaines DC and writes and performs with the psychedelic rock band TTRRUUCES. "We didn't have a TV growing up, so spending time in nature, building sand castles, reading, playing music, and listening to fairytales, played a huge role in creating my inner magical world." During lockdown, Vicci launched "Live Music in Nature," a series of live-streamed concerts in beautiful natural settings across the UK, combining strings, vocals, and effects pedals to create a soundtrack to nature. She has been nominated for a 2021 Royal Philharmonic Society Award and has released two studio albums to date.
