This new recording by Vincent Dubois, one of the four titular organists of Notre-Dame, showcases the technical, musical, and expressive palette of this monumental instrument built by the great Aristide Cavaillé-Coll. The program also honors the organ's legacy: The former titular organists of Notre-Dame are represented by pieces by Louis Vierne, Pierre Cochereau, and Claude Balbastre, as well as an arrangement (of the dazzling Flight of the Bumblebee by Rimsky-Korsakov) by Léonce de Saint-Martin; Dubois himself transcribed three movements from Ravel's suite Le Tombeau de Couperin, as well as works by César Franck and Charles Widor.
