As villagerrr, Mark Allen Scott offers patient, hypnotic songs deeply rooted in the Midwest. On his latest album, Tear Your Heart Out, the prolific Ohio artist captures everyday, understated experiences, transforming them into moments of disarming emotional clarity. It's an ideal record for long drives under the sun and small-town reunions, filled with homegrown tracks blending refined indie rock and subtle twang, confirming Scott as an essential voice alongside his emerging peers and collaborators. Originally released in 2024 by Darling Recordings, Tear Your Heart Out was warmly received, quietly spreading through several sold-out cassette runs, tours with Real Estate, Horse Jumper of Love, and Momma, and most recently, a signing with California label Winspear. The latter, known for launching Slow Pulp, Barrie, and Wishy, will release the album on vinyl for the first time and will also offer a deluxe digital edition including five unreleased tracks, thus providing a new perspective on this already much-loved project.
