"Suds" is a sung dance that keeps us in rhythm from start to finish, thanks to the finely crafted compositions and arrangements by Khalil Chahine and the carefully selected female musicians, like the breath that calms us once the storm has passed. David Linx For a year, Khalil composed and I wrote until we were able to present this project, which is undoubtedly the sum of what connects us. The lyrics, with the exception of one and a French/English duet with the admirable David Linx, are in French. Mes suds is a journey, between earthly and artificial paradises; it speaks of islands and oceans but also of alcohol and addictions, anger and resilience. It is the album of a love and friendship story." Viktor Lazlo The musical foundation of this album, Viktor Lazlo's thirteenth, is formed by a quartet featuring Cubans Felipe Cabrera on bass and Inor Sotolongo on percussion. On drums is Guadeloupean Arnaud Dolmen, and on guitar is Khalil Chahine, of Egyptian origin, well known for his talents as a guitarist and composer… a quartet on which Viktor lays her voice over 13 songs for which she wrote the lyrics and Khalil Chahine composed the music and arranged it. Stéphane Chausse plays clarinet on several tracks, Christophe Cravero is on piano, and violinist Leonor de Recondo also contributes. Finally, David Linx, a long-time close friend of Viktor, features on one duet (Bukowski) to add an extra dimension to the balance of this album. In short, a record in which each musician brings their own musical color through the diverse origins that make up the team!
