{"product_id":"veronique-hermann-sambin_sky-loom_2020","title":"Sky Loom","description":"After Ròz Jériko and Basalte, the Guadeloupean singer Véronique Hermann Sambin presents her third album, SKY LOOM, a warm fabric where the Creole language reveals itself, intertwined and delicate. The title of an Amerindian poem, SKY LOOM means \"a loom connecting the Earth to the Sky.\" This album is part of an action, beyond words and emotion. It is the soundtrack of the cultural and educational project \"TEXT'ILES,\" which aims to rediscover the art of weaving in Guadeloupe and the Caribbean. The beginning of a new narrative, builder, poetic, this opus was born from the singer's desire to revive a forgotten know-how that the Amerindians and Africans have hardly had the opportunity to perpetuate in the Antilles. Traditional Guadeloupean rhythms (Mende, Kaladja, Toumblak, Biguine...), Martinican (Mazouk), or Latin (Boléro, Bossa) are highlighted by an impressive team of creativity and talent: Arnaud Dolmen (drums), Grégory Privat (piano), Ralph Lavital (guitar), Xavier Richardeau (saxophone and clarinet), Régis Thérèse (bass). Colors, fibers, stories intersect here, like in the old textile shops on Rue Frébault in Pointe-à-Pitre, with the vigor and extensibility of the Tout-Monde. Through the meanders of dreams and memories, patterns and scenes unfold beautifully. Long verses introduce the themes, in the manner of the Broadway standards that Véronique Hermann Sambin cherishes. She takes the time and care to weave. She transmits patiently. Rare for a singer, she sometimes steps back, creating space in interludes where the music alone takes the floor. Words, even when well-handled, cannot describe everything. Under the artistic direction of guitarist Ralph Lavital, the compositions of the Guadeloupean fully immerse in a vast creolity, according to an architecture that is both rooted, striped, fluted, and harmonious. In addition to the two tributes to composers Scott Joplin (The Entertainer\/Lanmou) and Edouard Pajaniandy Mariépin (Fête à la Guadeloupe), the other nine tracks are written and composed by the Afro-Caribbean artist.","brand":"Veronique Hermann Sambin","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58239985582424,"sku":null,"price":20200201.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3341348162973.jpg?v=1787438585","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/veronique-hermann-sambin_sky-loom_2020","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
