Here, as in her studio albums, it is mainly the quality of the songs that suffers, and even though Steve Nieve, the former pianist of Elvis Costello already reclaimed by Alain Chamfort, does everything he can as an orchestrator to save the whole, one can only lament that Van lacks such discernment. Unsurprisingly, Sunday Monday by Lenny Kravitz, Walk On The Wild Side which needs no introduction, or L’Eau à la bouche and Requiem pour un con by the great Serge are the best of a set that we would have preferred to be larger, because Vanessa, like a Tracy Bonham from our region, truly gives her all.\u003cbr\u003e Even if her speech sometimes annoys (or is part of her charm, depending on your perspective), we must acknowledge that her journey remains quite decent. Borrowed from the Zombies, This Will Be Our Year confirms that she has more than just a thin voice, and a (small) knack for covers.
