The countertenor Valer Sabadus has been in the spotlight in France since his memorable successes in 2009 in Salzburg (under the direction of Riccardo Muti) and then in 2012 with Vinci's Artaserse (alongside Philippe Jaroussky, Max Emanuel Cencic, and Franco Fagioli); in 2013, he made his mark at the Académie Lyrique of the Aix-en-Provence Festival in Cavalli's Elena (1602 - 1676). Born in Romania in 1986, he first settled in Germany, where he received lessons in violin and singing. He collaborates in France with Christophe Rousset and achieves multiple outstanding successes, notably at the Opéra Royal de Versailles under the direction of Michaël Hofstetter. This very promising young talent performs here with the ensemble Nuovo Aspetto the works of Antonio Caldara, an Italian baroque composer forgotten by History. For all lovers of baroque vocal music, this album is an authentic discovery, both of the music and its performers!
