Over the past few years, New York producer umru has applied his vivid sonics to a wide range of sounds, whether in his own work or with those operating at the fringes of the underground and mainstream, such as Charli XCX, 100 gecs and ericdoa. After opening a new era late last year with the carnal rap chaos of 'check1' featuring Tommy Cash and 645AR, then with the hyperactive love story of 'heart2' featuring Rebecca Black and Petal Supply, umru today announces his second EP "Comfort Noïse" on the PC Music label. Alongside this announcement, he shares another excerpt from the project - a collaboration with Fraxiom entitled "All i need", featuring Hannah Diamond and Tony Velour. Opening more gently than his last efforts, "All i need" is centered on an omnipresent tenderness that shines even in the song's most agitated moments. Fraxiom's vocals glide breathlessly, as if expressing his love in the most descriptive way possible, becoming the main melodic centerpiece as the track transforms into a relentless percussive drive. With "Comfort noise", umru has consolidated his reputation as this generation's most inventive crossover producer. Using his versatile sound palette and applying it to classic pop compositions, umru pushes the boundaries of what's possible, and as unpredictable as his sound is, you can be sure it's going to be one hell of a ride. North American tour with Hyd until November 2022, followed by the Boiler Room (OOM ROOM) stage organized by umru with Eric Doa, Petal Supply, William Crooks and many more.
