Melbourne-based experimental collective Umlaut returns with their most daring and electrifying work to date: Desolë, their third album. This record not only marks a sonic evolution for the band but also a significant lineup change, with the arrival of long-time friend and legendary drummer Danny Heifetz (from Mr. Bungle). Composed of the core trio Clinton "Bär" McKinnon, Angus Leslie, and Shane Lieber, Umlaut's ever-evolving lineup has explored live formations ranging from seven musicians to intricate brass-laden arrangements. Now distilled into a tight-knit quartet, Umlaut embarks headfirst into a new chapter, forged by chemistry, intuition, and a shared love of unpredictability.
