Themes From William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell
Description
Experimental rock group Ulver return with a remastered version of their 1998 album "Themes From William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell." "Themes from William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" is the fourth studio album by Norwegian experimentalists Ulver. Known for their more folkloric black metal compositions on their early studio albums, in late 1997, band leader Kristoffer Rygg invited keyboardist, sound designer, and composer Tore Ylwizaker to join the collective, and together they conceived a plan for the Blake album, a much more adventurous project than their previous ones. The result is a seamless integration of electronic and industrial music, with elements of progressive metal and avant-garde rock, all fused with ambient passages while following Blake's plates as track indexes. Upon its release, the album was widely acclaimed by critics in the rock, metal, and alternative press, and received album of the month awards in several renowned magazines such as Terrorizer, Metal Hammer, and Rock Hard. The album notably features vocal appearances by Fenriz of Darkthrone, as well as Ihsahn and Samoth, best known for their work with Emperor. This new remastered edition of 'The Marriage of Heaven & Hell' is presented on a deluxe 2CD digipak, including full lyrics and text, as well as a double red and white colored vinyl.
