U.K. Subs is an English punk rock group, originally from London, among the first of the first wave of British punk. Formed in 1976, the mainstay of the group has been singer Charlie Harper. Initially named UK Subversives, the group changed its name for practical reasons. In May 1979, the group signed with GEM Records, a punk rock subsidiary of RCA Records.
