Description

Twerps is the spearhead band of this prolific new Australian indie pop scene (Dick Diver, The Stevens, Scott & Charlene's Wedding), sometimes ironically called "Dolewave" (Dole = unemployment), whose members grew up listening to the relaxed refrains of The Go-Betweens and the DIY indie pop hits of the Flying Nun label in the 80s. Formed in late 2008 by Martin Frawley and Julia MacFarlan, Twerps released their debut album "Dreamin'" in 2011 on the Chapter Music label for Australia and on Underwater People in the USA, the label founded by Real Estate, who would invite them to open for them across the United States in 2012. Following a signing with Merge Records in 2013 with the EP "Underlay," they released their second album "Range Anxiety" in early 2015 on the great and cult American label (Arcade Fire, M.Ward, Dinosaur Jr, Neutral Milk Hotel).
