When asked to sum up Turnover’s third album, *Good Nature*, frontman Austin Getz doesn’t hesitate to do so in one word. “Learning,” he says. “The whole record is about learning. Opening your eyes to new things, stepping outside your comfort zone, and learning to grow into something new.” The album’s unique stylistic blending is immediately perceptible in the opening track “Super Natural,” a summertime idyll featuring intertwining guitar parts and laid-back vocals. Hearing how the tranquil “Nightlight Girl” makes room for the driving chorus of “Breeze,” and how the track “Good Nature” flows as a harmonious whole, it seems evident that the four band members paid particular attention to a certain perfectionism of past artists: the variety of textures, tempos, and dynamics on *Good Nature* is partly influenced by bossa nova, cool jazz, electronic music, and psychedelic grooves. This influx of new influences and inspiration, guided by producer Will Yip (Incendiary, Xibalba, Citizen), results in the band’s best album to date. Pressed on yellow vinyl.
