Tout Bleu's second album, 'Otium', evokes a wander through paths crossing electronic and acoustic sounds. This new milestone in the musical journey of Simone Aubert (Massicot, Hyperculte) is a fertile deceleration for the Geneva multi-instrumentalist. Initiated as a solo project in 2018, the formation becomes a matrix of exploration for the musicians gathered on 'Otium': Naomi Mabanda on cello (Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp, Chien Mon Ami) and Luciano Turella on viola (Irtum Branda) interact with the machines and samples of POL, who was already at the helm on the eponymous first album 'Tout Bleu'. We find the riffs, sometimes melodic, sometimes abrasive, of Massicot, and the pulsed vocals and commitment of Hyperculte, but in Tout Bleu, acoustic instruments, voice, and electric guitar, diverted from their usual use, paint an orchestrated landscape with an almost pop sheen, where string polyrhythms intertwine with low-tempo beats.
