Description

Across 11 songs, Touché Amoré reflects on its past and uses hard-won optimism to guide its fans toward light and love. Touché Amoré has carved its way through angst, alienation, cancer, and heartbreak over four acclaimed studio albums. After more than a decade of working in the dark, the band's beautifully gruff fifth album, "Lament," finds light at the end of the tunnel. For the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2016 album "Stage Four," Touché Amoré chose to step out of their comfort zone and work with a new producer, the famous and demanding Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Korn, At the Drive-In). Both Robinson and Touché Amoré are known for the intensity of their sound. Last summer, Robinson agreed to participate in a rare "test recording" of a song, which resulted in the track "Deflector," released last fall. Ultimately, "Deflector" proved that the producer/band combination was undoubtedly the right one. "Lament" is their masterpiece. Its longer, structured songs soar with fierce yet delicate musicality and powerful, heartbreaking storytelling that shatters previous peaks. Yet, while the band has grown and matured through all they've endured, it's perhaps equally impressive how they've managed to remain true to their origins.
