If their very first album Surprise Attack showed that Tora Tora was a good band, Wild America should have allowed the Memphis, Tennessee combo to achieve success. And yet it will not be the case. The fault? Well, a bit of everything but mostly bad luck. 1992 was the year of musical transition, grunge arrived and gave a breath of fresh air to the rock genre that was close to asphyxiation due to the multiplication of album releases in all directions.
Yet “Wild America” is a top-notch album and may be one of the very best of the genre. The band here shows us that we should count on them, as they have developed a bold personality somewhere caught between US Big Rock like Van Halen and Hard Bluesy like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and Tesla.
The production is excellent, the musicians inspired and at the peak of their musical art, the compositions of very good quality.
What should have been the album of recognition ends with unfortunately disappointing record sales.
To be listened to again, remastered and enriched with 5 bonus tracks, for connoisseurs and to be urgently discovered by all those who have never lent an ear to this masterful disc.
