From The Soil To The Soul, the fourth album by Tommy Guerrero, finally gets its very first vinyl release. Originally released on CD in 2006, this classic of the West Coast scene has been fully remastered and visually reimagined by the artist himself. Always true to his fluid and groovy style, Guerrero explores richer, more nuanced compositions, tinged with Americana, lo-fi psychedelia, and Latin rhythms, in an atmosphere that is both airy and introspective. Written, arranged, and performed almost entirely by Tommy in his home studio, the album reveals an eclectic yet cohesive sonic palette: from hip-hop blues to Balearic anthems, via punk, funk, and soul. Notable collaborations (Lyrics Born, Bing Ji Ling, Curumin) enrich the whole, without ever overshadowing Guerrero's singular identity. Special mention for Just Ain't Me, a delicate and melancholic pop ballad, where the artist delivers a rare, emotionally charged vocal performance.
