Description

Tom Rogerson is an experimental improvisation specialist on piano and synth. *Finding Store*, his debut album, distills the essence of his long musical journey from childhood to the present day. From his traditional training, then with the great composer Harrison Birtwistle, to his beginnings as a bar pianist in a dilapidated hotel in Peterborough. Later, in New York, he played jazz, recorded with Reid Anderson, and had a successful career with a post-rock band. Brian Eno's influence on *Finding Store* is very present; their experiments led to the creation of a unique musical work that gives pride of place to the pianist's lyrical flights, which blend naturally with the electronic and ambient foundations of the genre's pioneer. This collaboration is also a conversation about the landscapes of Suffolk; these influences permeate Rogerson's music, just like Brian Eno's ambient recordings, and blend the notions of organic and electronic work.
