Description
Tim Armstrong, guitarist and frontman for Rancid, took a different road for his 2007 solo debut. With the backing of Los Angeles reggae revivalists the Aggrolites, Armstrong crafted a modern, groovy, and fun reggae album, influenced by ska, rock steady, roots reggae, and dancehall, and filtered through a modern pop-punk attitude. The sound of the record (nimble, bouncing, and rootsy yet utterly modern) immediately impresses, but as the record goes on, Armstrong's vocals assert themselves as the star.
