With "Shadow Theater," the pianist continues his massive construction project, as an invitation to step to the other side of the mirror, into an imaginary and dreamlike world that owes as much to Tim Burton as to the tradition of "shadow theater." Also seemingly clear, Shadow Theater is filled with dozens of figurines that inhabit the pianist's mind, from the labyrinthine metal of Meshuggah to the fusion jazz of Chick Corea, from Madlib to Sigur Rós, including Steve Reich.
