Description

The 2011 12" split between Balance and Composure and Tigers Jaw serves as an essential time capsule for both bands. The eight tracks capture the energy of the Pennsylvania music scene, alongside peers like Title Fight, Daylight/Superheaven, and The Menzingers. The soaring intro of Balance and Composure's "Kaleidoscope" immediately sets the tone, extended through their four tracks to the psychedelic "Rope," which became a fan favorite. On the Tigers Jaw side, most of the songs had already been released on other outputs, such as "Belongs to the Dead." This version features full band accompaniment, breathing new life into these previously rare tracks, from the Twin Peaks influence of "Lodging" to the sweet, catchy choruses of "Jet Alone." This split perfectly illustrates the collaborative spirit and vibrant energy of the indie/punk scene of the era, while also highlighting the sonic evolution of each of the two bands.
