Following up on 2015’s acclaimed Modern Blues and their 2017 Top 10 double album Out Of All This Blue, The Waterboys will release their new album Where The Action Is on Cooking Vinyl on May 24. Taking its title from Robert Parker’s Northern Soul classic Let’s Go Baby, Where The Action Is is a 10-song, genre-defying album that showcases the enduring talents of the band’s founder and frontman Mike Scott. Widely regarded as one of the greatest British songwriters of the last four decades, his songs have been covered and/or recorded by artists including Prince, who made two different arrangements of Scott’s classic The Whole Of The Moon, Rod Stewart, Tom Jones, Steve Earle, and Ellie Goulding, who reached number three in the charts in 2013 with How Long Will I Love You. Rich throughout, Where The Action Is is a divinely written album, displaying excellence in the fields of musical experimentation and inventiveness. This project will thrill Waterboys fans and convert new ones.
