The Danish quartet The Tremolo Beer Gut returns with its seventh album, Ask Not What The Tremolo Beer Gut Can Do For You..., undoubtedly its most ambitious and cinematic project. True to its style, the band blends surf guitar, spaghetti western vibes, garage rock, exotica, and film music. Inspired by Ennio Morricone, Henry Mancini, John Barry, as well as the pioneers of exotica Martin Denny and Les Baxter, the album presents itself as a succession of instrumental narratives featuring crooks, adventurers, unlucky heroes, and mysterious characters. Each track evokes a different cinematic universe, ranging from noir to tropical adventure films, with a touch of humor and nostalgia. In addition to the band's characteristic guitars, brass, vibraphone, organ, and ondes Martenot enrich the arrangements even further. Recorded in several Danish studios and entirely produced by the band, the album concludes with a series of tracks with dark and dreamlike atmospheres, leaving the listener between dream, mystery, and imaginary soundtrack.
