The Swell Season is back. What started out as a studio session to create a few new songs for their tour resulted in an album, aptly titled Forward, their first in 16 years following the massive global success of their Oscar-winning turn in the film Once. The story of the film and accompanying soundtrack went on to become award-winning musicals worldwide. The album consists of eight tracks written by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, who trade lead vocals throughout. Drawing on and respecting their shared history, they move forward on equal footing, supporting and elevating each other. Accompanied by former band members and produced by Sturla Mio Thorisson, they create a sound both old and new for The Swell Season.
