The new Smashing Pumpkins album will feature 20 tracks, including the title track "Cyr" and "The Colour of Love." It was recorded in the band's hometown of Chicago, with Billy Corgan as producer. "'Cyr' is a dystopian folly," Corgan said, "a weapon against the world, set against a backdrop of shifting loyalties and accelerating time. To me, it is both a hopeful and a true statement of what is and isn't possible with faith." In addition to the album announcement, Corgan shared the trailer for a new five-part animated series titled 'In Ashes.' 'Cyr' marks The Smashing Pumpkins' second LP since their "reunion" with guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain, following Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 - LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.
