In the early 80s, four young men from Glasgow exiled themselves to London to form what they would then call a "real" band. A band that would compose personal, emotionally charged songs with the aim of touching people. No sooner had they arrived than they grew tired of the incessant fashion changes in London at the time. They set out to create music that would stand the test of time, that would last: timeless music. The Silencers were born, and today they are back with their tenth album: Silent Highway. The recipe remains unchanged. Meticulously crafted tracks, exhilarating melodies, and sensitive lyrics. The twelve tracks that make up Silent Highway will leave their mark on you and become one with you - a hypnotic groove that will make you tap your foot or dance to lyrics that are authentic, sincere, or surreal, as well as political, ironic, or amusing. Created during the 2020 lockdown between Nantes, Rennes, and Glasgow, and co-produced by Jimme and Baptiste Brondy, drummer of the band Delgrès, Silent Highway was conceived by Jimme O'Neill as a true return to the roots of what forged 'the' Silencers' sound, namely their very first album A Letter from St. Paul, the one where it all began.
