The Shivas are high school friends who began their careers touring the US in a van paid for through a crowdfunding site. They are the new guard and vanguard of the Portland surf-pop scene, having a blast and astounding with their joyful precision on this debut album, Whiteout! They've been compared to The Black Lips, their harmonies and sunny sounds likened to Thee Oh Sees, and they recorded this album with Collin Hegna from Federale and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, featuring friends and neighbors as guests, including members of SexyWaterSpiders and The Dandy Warhols.
