As the Rolling Stones prepared for their sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium in June 1999, they announced a surprise concert at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire for June 8th.
An "intimate" crowd of 1,800 fans was treated to songs rarely heard live. "Melody" was performed for the first time since 1977, while "Moon Is Up" was played live only once in the band's career. Other rarities included "I Got The Blues" and "Brand New Car." Sheryl Crow, who opened the show, later joined the band for "Honky Tonk Women."
