The Electric Word is The Relatives' first album, although they were formed in 1970 by Reverend Gean West and his brother, Reverend Tommie West. It's a bridge between Gospel, soul music, and the psychedelic vibes of the era, addressing strong themes such as war, drugs, and inequality. It took 40 years to create this debut album, produced in Austin by Jim Eno (Spoon), featuring 10 fervent and evocative tracks: "Bad Trip" or "Speak to Me (What's Wrong With America?)."
