Originally from Bristol, The Pop Group left their mark on the post-punk scene with a sound somewhere between destructive fury and funk groove, sometimes tinged with dub and free jazz. *Citizen Zombie* is their new album after 35 years of silence! At an age when so many others are campaigning for early retirement, Mark Stewart and his band of sixty-somethings are definitively burying the punk adage and seem to have found a second life in old age. Having come a long way, the original members of The Pop Group have decided to dust off the wheelchair to polish their egos. The Pop Group has all the hallmarks of a cult band: a sulphurous reputation as a troublemaking group, three albums released two years apart between 1979 and 1980, a few "committed" tracks, then a sudden dissolution of the band which now gives them a well-deserved aura. Unclassifiable at the time, oscillating between punk and dub, free jazz and deconstructive rock, the band disappeared very quickly during the 80s. After the unreleased tracks album (*Cabinets of Curiosities*) and the reissues released these days, The Pop Group will therefore return in 2015 with a new album called *Citizen Zombie*, produced by Paul Epworth (Coldplay, Adele, Florence & the Machine).
