As leader of Boomtown Rats, Bob Geldof led his band of Dublin New-wavers to the top of the UK charts. But before that pristine power-pop, there was something raw and very much on the make. For the first time on vinyl, their live demo tapes from 1975 to 1979 are heard. This is a final record of the results from Nigel Grainge and Chris Hill's offices at Ensign Records, after which the band was announced in the UK in October of the anniversary. The four tracks are supplemented by a performance directly at the Moran Hotel, just off O'Connell Street in Dublin. Robert Parker's Barefoot is released with an energy source that creates a nod to the Stooges and Dr. Feelgood. They have been highly sought after by fans over the years.
