Pyramid Édition Limitée Vinyle Bleu

Description

The Modern Jazz Quartet had become an institution of jazz by the time of the recording of Pyramid, but it had never lost its creativity, and their interpretations, even when presenting new versions of classics like "Django" or "Vendome," are truly stimulating, enthusiastic, and fresh. John Lewis was the director of the Lenox School of Jazz from its inception in 1957 until its closure in 1960. During Lewis's teaching period at Lenox in 1959, the Modern Jazz Quartet began recording the sessions that would give rise to Pyramid. The album, one of the group's best, was completed during sessions held in New York on December 21, 1959, and January 15, 1960. BLUE COLORED VINYL 180 GRAMS - THE COMPLETE ALBUM + 2 BONUS TRACKS. Contains new liner notes specially prepared by the editor of the Penguin Guide to Jazz, BRIAN MORTON, and by the prestigious JAZZ MAGAZINE from Paris. LIMITED EDITION.
