REJUVENATION/VINYLE NOIR AUDIOPHILE 180GR/INCLUS 2 TITRES BONUS

Description

There's funk and Funk! Released in 1970, *Struttin'* is the third studio album by the iconic first-wave funk band The Meters. The single "Chicken Strut" reached the TOP 10 of the US charts upon its release. Although it may seem very similar to its two predecessors, notably thanks to The Meters' inimitable groove and their typical organic sound, it is on this album that the band introduces its vocal signature with Art Neville, singing on covers of "Darling Darling Darling," "Wichita Lineman," and "Ride Your Pony." Many bands would later try, with varying degrees of success, to imitate this very particular sonic signature. "The sound is as dry as a whip, the guitars acidic, the bass nervous and massive. Chicken Strut, a pure delight perfectly blending heavy rhythm and frantic chicken squawks." – *Télérama*
