LE PTIT CHAM SESSION

Description

The Marshals have never abandoned a precious idiom: the essence of the blues, whether from Moulins or Jacksonville. The Marshals sing about real life, about abandoned countrysides, about small French towns, all of which have the blues. The trio makes the music resonate with masterful intensity, connecting the Mississippi Delta and the Massif Central. The Marshals deliver a workingman's blues, laborious, inspired by that of John Lee Hooker or Canned Heat. To record it, The Marshals reconnected with the earth and cut themselves off from the world during a session at Le P'tit Cham, not far from Sancy, in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Park. They once again ploughed their blues into the granite rock. Small, sharp fragments fell from the mountain, forming nine roaring tracks, made for the road, for those long hours when the mind gets lost in the landscapes, where the breath of the elements, between natural beauty and rural solitude, clashes with the melancholy of fleeting times.
