After a first album, Do Hollywood, acclaimed by the press, The Lemon Twigs are back with the highly ambitious Go To School, a rock opera in the worthy tradition of a Rocky Horror Picture Show. Except that this is ‘the heartbreaking story of a chimpanzee's coming of age, raised as a human and going to school.
In a totally 70s pop-rock vein, Go To School was composed and mixed by the D'Addario brothers in their Long Island home, however they enlisted the legendary Todd Rundgren to play one of the key characters in this musical, alongside their mother.
"Between the two of them, the brothers aren't even 35, but their extravagant and ultra-melodic pop is nourished by the best sources." — Les Inrocks
"The enthusiasm of The Lemon Twigs is matched only by the vintage freshness of their songs." — Rolling Stone
"Without departing from imitative reflexes [...], their music allows for unsuspected flashes of brilliance, between a flirt with prog rock and a free-form digression, to reach peaks of intensity." — Télérama
