BROTHERS OF DESTRUCTION

Description

With their first album released in 2016, Michael and Brian D'Addario, two brothers from Long Island, aka The Lemon Twigs, unveiled an extravagant pop steeped in the best references from the sixties and seventies. Surprising for these boys, who were only 17 and 19 years old. Recorded in Los Angeles with Jonathan Rado of the band Foxygen producing, *Do Hollywood* revealed in ten tracks the astonishing talent of these virtuosos: a sense of melody worthy of The Beatles, Beach Boys-esque harmonies, Kinksian energy, Queen-like glam rock, and for our contemporaries, Ariel Pink's madness and MGMT's psychedelic escapades. The magic continues on *Brothers of Destruction*, a new EP of six tracks written and recorded by the brothers on their 8-track in New York in 2015. After they had just finished *Do Hollywood*, they decided to tackle recording some tracks not selected for the final version of their debut album. And it worked out well for them, as these six tracks could easily have been on *Do Hollywood*, as they exude the same references, the same passion, and immense talent. While "So Fine" seems to evoke the best of The Kinks, the beauty of the arpeggios in "Beautiful," accompanied by Brian's voice, will leave no one indifferent. The prog fury of "Night Out" proves violently contagious, and what can be said of "Light and Love" where the brothers' vocal harmonies are deeply moving. Another masterstroke for The Lemon Twigs!
