All Mod Cons

Description

Leading band of the late 70s and standard-bearers for a generation of English Mods, The Jam remain among the absolute icons of Rock across the Channel. Since 'In The City', the young Londoners embody the urgency in which youth wallows while distilling the 'So British' touch that distinguishes British Pop. It was in 1978 with 'All Mod Cons' that the group began their emancipation from a 'Punk' scene that was running out of steam. The harmonies, which are not unlike the golden age of 'The Who', would become the trademark of the Londoners.
