A new melodic album for the "Summertime-gothic" duo, delving into linear and minimal urban depths. The Hundred In The Hands (Eleanore and Jason) emerged from their dimly lit New York studio with a self-produced meditation on separation and reunion, on love almost lost and the long journey to find it again; a chronicle of nocturnal hesitations, bathed in a digital glow. Red Night begins with a sound as if from a distant source, drawing the listener deep into the city's hum. It's an abstract yet thoughtful approach, very different from their eponymous debut album (2010). Coming from the cloudy digital ether of contemporary electronics, hip-hop production, and New York City's long lineage of avant-garde dance music, Red Night is a unique sonic bridge between aesthetic fields.
