Tales from the dam

Description

Muséa released the excellent Timanfaya last year, the second album by THE HEALING ROAD. "Tales from the dam" is its successor, composed and performed by keyboardist Hanspeter Hesse, aided by four guitarists, a drummer, and a classical singer. This "group project," like "Timanfaya," avoids with disconcerting ease the pitfalls and clichés that usually lurk in purely instrumental music, as well as in "multi-instrumentalist projects." The album consists of two parts, each about twenty minutes long, and successfully achieves the feat of offering music that is both very dynamic and inviting to meditation. A great diversity of rhythms, percussion, and keyboard sounds, combined with melodic work of great beauty and constant renewal in this area, make "Tales from the dam" a splendid work, incredibly evocative, and very unique in current production. It can be compared to the early albums of Mike OLDFIELD, with other more discreet influences (GENESIS, E.L.P., SUPERTRAMP). These melodies are among the most beautiful you can hear in current symphonic music, and certainly deserve much more than a niche audience. You can enjoy it doubly: it is an LP+CD edition, due to the creator's taste for "analog" sound. Highlights: - LP+CD edition - Project by a German keyboardist, surrounded by many musicians - A musical symphony in two 20-minute parts, in a vein close to Mike OLDFIELD (early albums), with a current sound.
