The Harlem Gospel Travelers are not originally from Harlem. However, they came to Harlem from all over New York City's five boroughs, and it was in Harlem, this legendary center of African-American culture, that they found their voice. It was through the GospelFor Teens music education program that they learned not how to sing, because they already had that talent, but what their voices could truly do and how to use them. Drawing inspiration from legends such as The Soul Stirrers, The Swan Silvertones, The Violinaires, and The Swanee Quintet, these young men quickly moved from imitation to creation, writing their own songs with the help of Aaron Frazer and Eli Paperboy Reed, building their own original arrangements from scratch. After perfecting and tightening their harmonies, learning when to project their voices and when to whisper, The Harlem Gospel Travelers are now releasing their first 45rpm single, featuring the two tracks "Nothing But His Love" and "God's Gonna Move His Hand." Here, each member of the group has the chance to lead, each has the opportunity to highlight the individuality of their voice. Each song on the album has a purpose, but the overall goal of the project is simple: to glorify the name of God and sing His praises. A record that, we hope, will lift your spirits and bring you joy for years to come!
