Music For 'Kids' gathers all the activity of The Folk Implosion, composed of Lou Barlow and John Davis, around their original works that took the lion's share of the soundtrack for Kids, as well as B-sides, unreleased tracks, and remixes from that era.Closely followed by Harmony Korine, the enfant terrible who wrote the original screenplay for Kids, Barlow felt that Davis's sensibilities were better suited to what he envisioned for the soundtrack than to the aesthetic of his other musical projects. With engineer/producer Wally Gagel, experimentation and playfulness in the studio provided an invaluable sonic counterpoint to the radical cinema it accompanied, made even more surprising by the fact that "Natural One" became a legitimate Top 40 hit in the US. This is the first time the soundtrack will be available on DSPs.
