Nothing is ever truly over. This is the leitmotif of The Eternal Youth, who believe in the rebirth of even moribund things. Barely a year and a half after the release of their first album, the Caen-based band returns with their second opus. A short delay that might suggest the two productions are as similar as two drops of water from the fountain of youth. Not at all! If *Me and You Against The World*, released in November 2018, is rooted in '77 punk, *Nothing Is Ever Over* is steeped in the 80s, cold wave, and post-punk. Somewhere between The Smiths, The Chameleons, Buzzcocks, and Alkaline Trio. With a polished production highlighting the arrangements and the lead vocal, this second album seems more mature and darker. The discourse and tone have hardened, but energy remains the watchword, uniting both initiates and laypeople.
