THEY CALLED IT RHYTHM & BLUES

Description

New album since May 2019. 70 years old and Duke Robillard is still here delivering his Blues just like he did at the beginning of his career in 1967: More than 50 years in the business and several Grammy Award nominations (2007 and 2010). He is also a 5-time consecutive winner of the "Blues Music Awards" for Best Guitarist. The leader of Roomful of Blues, after 50 years of dedicating himself to the blues, is back in the spotlight with a brand new album bringing together all his musical influences. Here and there, we find the ghosts of Louis Jordan, Chuck Berry, and the entire blues gallery, right up to the instrumental track that closes this album, which this time has a very Californian feel. Duke Robillard has worked with the greatest throughout his life, including Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Ruth Brown, Pinetop Perkins, as well as the Fabulous Thunderbirds, where he shared guitar duties with Texan Jimmie Vaughan. Since the beginning of his career in 1967, he has released no fewer than 50 albums, demonstrating his vocal and instrumental style. Born in Rhode Island in 1948, he remains a blues veteran in all its forms, and in 13 tracks, this album is a true and very complete catalog of his mastered art.
