The reissue of "A Short Album About Love" for the band's 30th anniversary! A Short Album About Love was conceived as a companion to Casanova. The album was recorded live at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London in 1996 with a 30-piece orchestra. It was released on Valentine's Day 1997. It entered the UK Top 13. The CD edition includes two discs: the remastered album + 12 bonus tracks (B-sides, demos, and alternate takes chosen by Neil Hannon). The second disc is a DVD - A Short Film About A Short Album About Love - an unreleased 50-minute film of the concert at which the album was recorded. The CD comes with a booklet of photos and notes written by Neil discussing the context and inspirations behind this album and its tracks. The LP edition includes the original remastered album with a download code for the album and bonus tracks. The LP is a heavyweight black gatefold with photos, credits, and notes from Neil.
